But today, everyone’s’ words seem pointless, half-witted, said without purpose; they not meant to address any current issue. Why do people ruin themselves with such ease and delight? Why do they think cheating on tests, not learning, not being thirsty for knowledge, is good? Education is the only thing that can open our eyes well enough to see how the world works. Education is the only weapon against destruction, poverty, sadness, hunger... Education provides us with a clear perspective on life. It gives us hope, opportunity and progress.
It is easy to neglect our intelligence today - with all of those social media accounts it’s hard to choose the path of discovery. But that’s why it is so important to do so. The world will soon fall into the mighty hands of stupidity and laziness and the only thing that can save us from becoming meaningless is education and knowledge.
That’s why I chose to put my phone down and took a book instead. It seemed hard in the beginning, but it’s getting easier and easier day by day.
